Manager of Violence and Injury Prevention

Tony is the manager of violence and injury prevention at Public Health-Seattle & Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. County. He also is clinical faculty in the School of Public Health at the University of Washington. Tony was elected to the Executive Committee of the Safe States Alliance where he also serves on the policy committee and was a member of the work group on recreational boating surveillance and data efforts. Tony was on the NDPA Data and Surveillance Work Group. He helped start the WA State Drowning Prevention Network and has co-published several papers on drowning prevention including use of child fatality review and medical examiner data towards prevention. As a former lifeguard, swim instructor, facility manager, competitor, coach, public health facility inspector and supervisor of safety and health of all water recreation facilities in King County he brings experience (over 40 years) and perspective to drowning prevention work.
