Over 30 years of beach lifeguard experience and supervision in the Hawaiian Islands. Retired Lieutenant/supervisor for the City and County of Honolulu – Ocean Safety and Lifeguard Services Division. Current responsibilities include 10 miles of guarded and unguarded coastal recreational areas, two highly utilized surf beaches, and four swimming pools. Co-Chair of the workgroup tasked with writing the State of Hawaii Water Safety/Drowning Prevention Strategic/Action Plan to be completed and widely disseminated in 2024. Ron is also an American Red Cross LGI and WSI, and a NREMT.
