CAST Water Safety Foundation

Founder & Director

Liz Huber is the Founder & Director of the CAST Water Safety Foundation. After seeing her toddler daughters learn to self-rescue, Liz felt inspired to share their incredibly empowering experience with others. Liz trained as a certified self-rescue instructor in 2017 and created CAST soon after. Through education, CAST empowers families of children ages 5 and under to create strong water safety strategies. CAST advocates for self-rescue swim lessons as a necessary and portable layer of protection. To-date, CAST has supported the training of 12 Chicago-area self- rescue instructors who bring swim lessons and water safety education resources to their respective communities. Together with its growing team of nation-wide scholarship providers, CAST has supported 600+ students with self-rescue lesson scholarships. Liz is a former educator and 4th generation working mom. Liz and her husband, Dan, live near Chicago with their daughters, Scotty (9) and Abby (7), and giant dog, Benny.
