Central Region Child Fatality Prevention Specialist

Kirby Morgan is the Child Fatality Prevention Specialist for the Department of Children and Families. Kirby has been with the department for 28 years and is passionate about protecting Florida’s children and preventing child fatalities. Kirby worked in Economic Self Sufficiency Eligibility for 3 years and Welfare Fraud for five years earning a Davis Productivity Award in 2002 for his efforts in measurably increasing performance and productivity. In 2003 Kirby transitioned to Family Safety as a Child Protective Investigator, spending 3 years in the Pine Hills area of Orlando and the last 2 years in the Critical Unit at the Howard Phillips Center covering all of Orange County. In 2008 Kirby moved into the Family Safety Program Office and has been the Child Fatality Prevention Specialist for the Central Region for the last 15 years. Kirby holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Renaissance History from the University of Florida.
