Colin's Hope

Colin’s Hope is a nonprofit organization established in 2008 with a mission to raise awareness, provide education, and offer resources for water safety to prevent children from drowning. The organization was founded after the tragic loss of 4-year-old Colin Holst, who drowned in a pool despite having family, friends, and lifeguards present.

Colin’s Hope educates parents, caregivers, and children about simple measures to be safer around water. The organization has developed a dry-land/classroom curriculum for young children called “Water Safety with Colin and Friends.” This bilingual, evidence-based curriculum teaches essential water safety rules and behaviors through our free website: www.drowningispreventable.org. Additionally, Colin’s Hope offers Water Safety cards and an online Water Safety Quiz for parents and caregivers.
